MEN’S VOLLEYBALL TO SEARCH FOR WIN AGAINST STANFORD

The USC men’s volleyball team is looking to snap its five-game losing streak Thursday as it faces No. 12 Stanford at Maples Pavilion in Stanford, Calif. Going into the second consecutive week of MPSF matches, the Trojans remain winless within the conference at 0-4 while Stanford is coming off two straight losses to No. 1 Hawaii.
TROJANS WELCOME BRUINS FOR RIVALRY SHOWDOWN TO CAP REGULAR SEASON

The USC men’s basketball team will play its season finale against UCLA at Galen Center Saturday. The Trojans enter the matchup tied for third place in the Pac-12 at 10-7, while the crosstown rival Bruins are tied atop the standings at 12-5, riding a seven-game win streak.
Both teams enter the game with momentum and plenty on the line for the postseason.

Hundreds of media outlets on the internet often publish articles that are factually correct but have a clear bias that manifests itself through loaded language. Buzzfeed is certainly one of those outlets when it comes to political journalism. With this bias in mind, I conducted a S.M.E.L.L test (an examination of an article’s source, motivation, evidence, logic, and what’s left out) on one Buzzfeed piece by Paul McLeod

Trump isn’t the only one who thinks the media is biased. Many Americans have lost trust in the mainstream media over the past few decades. A Gallup and Knight Foundation survey conducted in 2017 found that 66% of Americans say most news media do not do a good job of separating fact from opinion, compared to 42% in 1986.
