CAMPAIGNS AND MEDIA: "THE ENEMY OF THE PEOPLE"

September 2019

With the Democratic Presidential Primaries heating up, the USC Center for the Political Future hosted an event called "How Media Covers Campaigns." I was in attendance to listen in on what these experts had to say about the increasingly antagonistic relationship the media has with President Trump.

The panel included Ron Brownstein, senior editor at the Atlantic and senior political analyst at CNN, along with Tammy Haddad, president of Haddad Media, and Colleen King, executive producer at MSNBC. Christina Bellantoni, director of the Annenberg Media Center, served as the moderator of the discussion.

To reflect on the event, I composed a photo essay to convey my thoughts on how the media covers campaigns as well as explaining what these experts believed.

This panel was held in a relatively small venue, so finding a variety of angles for my shots was challenging. However, the panelists' expressions, as well as the audience, provided many photo ops for me.
